CREPA
During a summer holiday, Crepa Hefhelp’s CEO thought of a tent for his new showroom. Kampman Architects designed the structure and consulted Tentech for engineering.
The expressive roof stands out in its surrounding of functionalistic, strict buildings. The white color contrasts with the anthracite of the adjacent premises. The tent is a prominent beacon in its surrounding and can be seen from a far distance, giving Crepa’s showroom its own identity in an industrial area.
From a structural point of view, the membrane cover is completely unrelated to its adjacent offices. The membrane is supported centrally by three columns and is circularly spread by outriggers. Cables stabilize the columns and outriggers. In the high-points of the membrane bow-formed cables are used to reduce stresses in the membrane.
