CURTAIN 01
For Dekmantel Festival 2025, the iconic Selectors Stage was given a new dimension. High among the trees of the Amsterdamse Bos, a floating textile roof appeared – a structure that not only offered protection from the rain but also created a unique atmosphere between nature, audience, and music.
Under the direction of Johannes Offerhaus of Zelt.studio, a light, almost weightless piece of architecture emerged: a play of fabric, ropes, and steel that nestled subtly within the forest. What began as a simple idea – stretching a piece of cloth between two trees – evolved into a refined tension system. Four slender steel columns, carefully hidden among the greenery, supported a network of aluminum and cables that held the fabric in place.
The result was a sculptural canopy that moves with the wind, catches the sunlight, and hovers above the crowd like an intergalactic sailing ship. A stage covering that is not only functional but also poetic.
Tentech provided the engineering and verified the design, making this extraordinary project a reality.
