FLORA
By 2030, Tourism Flanders aims to build a network of castles, domains and gardens. In the run-up to that, it is now launching the first edition of the ‘revaluation festival’ Stories Unfold. The intention is to hold an edition every two years at a changing location. Rubens Castle, also known as Beaulieu Castle, is a historic castle located in Zemst, Belgium. It owes its name to the famous Flemish Baroque painter Peter Paul Rubens, who bought the castle in 1635 as a country residence for his family. Rubens Castle was the first venue to welcome Stories Unfold. Thanks to this festival, you will find an exceptionally rich range of inspiring activities. For this purpose, Rubens Castle has been given a temporary pavilion called the Flora. It consists of a clever piece of circular architecture with a cosy bar and a stage.
Tentech was asked to collaborate on this. We advised the architect on the tent structure and did the engineering of the sail structure. We also did the static analysis and created the cutting patterns.
