THORN
Two renowned harmony-orchestra’s based in the community of Thorn wished to have a local accommodation for their public performances and presentations.
The city council decided to grant this wish by covering a part of a historical monastery-complex with a semi-permanent membrane structure. Tentech designed a pavilion to accommodate a stage for 100 musicians and seats for 225 spectators. The tent-shape is designed with respect to its historical environment and opens up to the monastery church. The stage side is closed to provide shelter for the performers.
The music pavilion measures 20 by 20 meters and can be erected in approximately 5 hours by a specialized assembly crew. The remarkable A-frames function as a lever to make a save assembly and disassembly possible.
